Dive into the lost civilizations of the Amazon Forest as an outcast warrior facing an unstoppable empire. If you love the Souls series, but you are tired of getting endless seas of nihilistic lore instead of fresh stories, this might be the game for you.
Inspired by action-RPGs staples like Elden Ring, Shadow of Mordor, and The God of War, Far Seer carves out a distinct identity through its Pre-Columbian setting and emotional stakes. It blends challenging melee combat with a branching narrative centered on how to win a war without losing your soul.
You play as Amaru, a young orphan brought to the Guaci people as a baby. Raised by a tribe that barely tolerates him, Amaru is thrown into crisis when the Casarabe Empire invades, capturing souls to harvest Niichi’I - the life force - and leaves him on Death's Door.

His only shot at survival? Breaking taboo, mastering forbidden powers, and facing the ghost of his own trauma. Literally.
The characters stick with you. Itsa, the spirit bound to Amaru by a magic amulet, is more than just a spirit guide. She's a symbol of vengeance - and at times, a threat. Her push for retribution directly opposes Amaru’s search for balance, but her tragic story and her ability to control huge wild animals make her a worthy companion.
Combat is sharp and punishing. You’ll dodge, parry, and bleed your way through warriors warped by soul magic, often relying on quick instincts and smarter character builds. Amaru's journey seamlessly weaves into the upgrade options, giving narrative weight to all your choices. The Niich’i system forces you to decide: trap enemies’ souls to grow stronger, or find other ways to evolve?
There’s also Spirit Travel: a mechanic that lets you project into alternate futures, scout distant regions, and bring knowledge and relics back with you. And yes, there’s also a Monkey Trading System. Two rival tribes of monkeys - one sly and greedy, the other aggressive and self-righteous - offer secret upgrades, if you don’t get scammed first. These features help distinguish Far Seer from its inspirations without overcomplicating the core loop.
Amaru’s spiritual journey plays out across a massive world that feels alive with myth and danger. You’ll travel through sacred jungle temples, flooded ruins, and deserts, uncovering the secrets of your mother’s legacy and the Guaci Tribe as you try to rally your people to turn the tides of battle.
Verdict
Far Seer is a soulful action-RPG with tight combat, thoughtful choices, and an Amazonian world full of ancient power and moral weight. If you want a game where story and gameplay actually speak the same language - and that language is jaguar-roaring poetry - this one’s worth the fight.
